Treat Yourself! ~ New Sushi Mini Collection

Hey, makers!

Last week I teased that I was working on a design inspired by one of my favorite foods.

Spoonflower, my fabric and wallpaper manufacturer, is running a challenge called ‘Treat Yourself’ where designers were invited to create something inspired by a tasty treat, either sweet or savory.

I’m much more of a savory over sweet person, and one of my favorite treats is sushi! 🍣 I don’t have it terribly often, but I find the fish and rice to be so rich and delicious. So I decided to make a design themed around it.

Here’s a peek at how it turned out~

I created a few coordinating prints to go along it as well, also with a Japanese flare to them. The Seigaiha scalloped wave is a favorite traditional design of mine. I noticed it all over the place when I was in Japan last year, and I wanted to add my own little touch to it.

The sushi and Seigaiha wave prints are available to purchase now in a variety of colorways in my Spoonflower shop, and I’ll be publishing the swirls this week!

Currently, I’m revisiting the first collection I ever made which was vineyard-inspired (wine is also one of my favorite treats 🍷) and I’m creating some new prints to go along with that theme. I’ll share how those turn out with you next week.
